Christmas!

Hello All!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I had to work, but had a lovely morning with Dicky, he got up and made me croissants, and then we indulged in the goodies mum and dad had sent over in a hamper.  We then had a quiet night, nice dinner and a movie.  Twas lovely, missed you all like crazy though.  I went to the Christmas eve service which was in the main centre it was lovely..heaps of people.  It was alot like the Hemmant service, but with a message, a bit of a missed opportunity on the ministers part, what with such a large audience.  He decided to talk about hearing angels talk to him, a bit random.  The miracle of Jesus would have been more appropriate!  We also had the Christsmas eve parade which is where all the different work departments and restaurants etc, dress up and do a parade throught the village centre.  It was really lovely, there were fire works, hummers, ski mobiles, lots of glow sticks.  Our department won, so we get a tubing party with pizza.  Should be awesome.  Dicky and I went tubing the other night, so much fun.  It's basically a bunch of slides covered in ice that you go down on a tube.  Shame Dick's not going to be able to come cos' he doesn't work in my department.

New Years....we were at a bit of a loose end.  we knew there were lots of parties etc happenning, so we had a couple of drinks at home and had a dance.  Then my friend from work texted me and said they were heading to a party so we said we'd tag along, was expecting a bit of a gathering.  40 or so people.  Turns out we went to the party of the night.  we found our way, basically just following the crowd and the sound of music.  When we got there we found 3 story chalet filled with people...i'm talking like 500+ people.  it was insane.  we first walked into what  appeared to be the pot smoking room, and came out passively high (not really..but i blamed that on the munchies i had that night).  we then found the room where the Dj was, and danced till midnight.  Was a great night we had a hilarious time, just thinking about how surreal it was that we were at the party.  I really feel for the clean up the next day. the place was trashed, people were dancing on the couches and i came home with a whole length of thier vertical blind in my hair.   We headed home at about 12.30 and were in bed by 1.30am.  cos we had to work the next day, was pretty tired the next day, that was until i found out there were 3 people at work who were on no sleep! they came home from the party, showered and came to work! i never had that sort of energy, i'll put it down to drugs.  Apparently the whole sunrise at 8am really throws people here, cos at home you party unitl dawn...

Work has been good and we are both now getting fairly good hours.  I mainly work in the kid's clothing store, and sell rich Australian's kids ski gear all day.  The retail team a really fun bunch of people.  I have my second Christmas party tonight.  dinner and drinks.  The last one our boss cooked for us, home made gnocchi, lasagne.  was awesome.  This one is catered, should be good.

Dick has been getting good hours, and really scoring with the food.  For those of you who don't know, the one perk of housekeeping is, whatever is left behind in the apartment, the housekeepers divy  it up.  After yesterday we don't have to do shopping for a while.  honey, laundry detergant, ice-cream, crackers, toilet paper, oil plus heaps more!  and yesterday Dick scored a bottle of red.  Was amazing checked out the bottle-o, $65.  score!!

We haven't had much snow but Dick's been going out snow boarding a fair bit.

I got my cast off last week.  The doctor was happy with the break in my radius that was pulled back into place, but the crack in the joint was still visible, he said he was happy the crack had fused, just not fully healed yet.  he didn't want ot have to bring me back for an appointment so he kept the cast off and i need to wear a half-cast/backslab for another 2-3 weeks and no snowboarding for 4 weeks, was a bit of a blow, but can't muck around with this, i don't want to have to have surgery.

Hope SEP was awesome for all who went.. managed not to miss it too much, lots of love,
Dicky and Jordy.
